Nebrodi mountains culture and tradition will take centre stage at Expo’s bio Mediterranean cluster with Gal Nebrodi Plus, an event seeking to popularise the region’s culinary tradition in harmony with health and nature.

Activities at the cluster will begin every day from 10.30 a.m with a Mediterranean breakfast rich in excellent local produce such as buns, jams, honey and fresh fruit.

A cooking show will begin at 12.30 with chefs illustrating the area’s typical dishes such as tagliolini with sword fish, black pig of the Nebrodi on a patato velouté with caramelised chestnuts and pomegranate, ricotta millefoglie with orange marmelade. Friday and Saturday Greek chefs will prepare two dishes to promote Greek safran: as an entrée chef Dimitris Geroutis will cook a new version of risotto alla milanese with Greek organic safran, while chef and ice-cream master Geroutis will make a safran flavoured ice-cream.

The early afternoon will be dedicated to the presentation of territories with Nebrodi representatives. A cultural aperitif, speakeasy, will take place later on at the cluster.

An event organised by Fagri (Filiera Agricola Italiana, Italian Cultural Production Chain) will take place between 5.30 and 10 p.m. Sunday, between 4.30 p.m and 6.30 p.m, mayors and Nebrodi Mountains council-members will sign the Milan Charter.
